Today I wish to honor Lori Sullivan & her Bichon Taffy for taking their heartbreak and turning it into a positive:

Lori Sullivan lost her 6 yr old son to neuroplastoma, and now instead of spending her days in grief, she and her Bichon 'Taffy' invest their days into elevating the lives of those who are currently dealing with critical illnesses.

A great first step to becoming a therapy dog who lifts the hearts and souls of those less fortunate is participating in the Bash's Canine Good Citizenship testing.   2 slots open Sat afternoon ... one slot Sunday afternoon. Click

Wed. 9/26:   What a busy day I've put in peoples!!
The sun came up to a smoky sky...

and the guys called to say the TENT IS ON IT'S WAY!!

So Mommy fed us our yummy homemade food,
and we ate quick as can ...so we could run outdoors fast
 ...

.... but still no tent.  So we waited ..

and waited and waited ....
I finally went to my favorite spot .. a nice,

comfortable chair .. and Tiger went to his favorite spot ..

the table on the kitchen patio.

But Pixel stayed in with Mommy

But bark! We hear a truck!!

We ran out to greet them,
but they were on the other side
of our fence, so we just watched.

They didn't take long to roll out the pieces, and rivet them together.

Then they put poles all the way around to keep the edges supported.  And pretty soon two big poles in the middle

and after two hours of back-breaking work ...
Presto, it's up and well tied down!

After the nice men left, we went to inspect both...

... the big tent ... and headed to the smaller Grooming Class tent further up the hill.

We watered everything really well on our way.

Here I am at 31 lbs,
and that's my main squeeze Pixel at 8 lbs.
Oh boy I am tired.   Did you see the pics I took of some of the Boutique Boutique items,
and Silent Auction Silent Auction items?

WHEEEEEE.....
the BASH is really coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please click on image to see me and a
nother Big Boy Fluff,  Elliott from Canada

This year the 'getting famous' Oliver and PD are coming
to my Bash.  What other big fluffs are coming?

Hi Peoples,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and you've come into today rested and relaxed for a short week.

Sadly, I have the duty today to tell you that the rumors are true, boo hoo.  This year's Southeast USA Bichon Bash is the last year we have plans to do such a huge undertaking.  As you know, it's a very big job for me and my helpers to host such an event.  We have LOVED doing it for all these years, and will miss it greatly.

So if you have friends who say they want to come to the Tennessee Bash 'one of these years', it's time to boogey on over to my house!

big smoochy licks,   Bungee

We love it when we can help people feel pawfectly happy ~ !!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!!
We hope you are having a
wonderful relaxing holiday weekend.

This little gal has super seniority around here ... Miss Pixel Perfect.  On Bash weekend, she'll either be in Mom's arms or 6" away.  Pix just turned 13 and doesn't see or hear so well anymore.

Dad and I have been working hard all morning mowing and mowing ....  now we get to lay back and take a rest.

BASH TIP:  To avoid surprises on your personal possessions, please keep items up off the ground.

POOPER
SCOOPERS
NEEDED
Do you have a pooper scooper shovel
that could be used for the duration
of the Bash?

Wednesday 8/30 Noon

Part of Bash time fun includes everyone sharing the responsibility for keeping the grounds free of  poos so no one will get their shoes icky.   We already have 1,000 poop
bags ready to go too, but some people prefer a scooper.  Please email me

slurps, Bungee

BASH TIPEarly mornings and evenings can be divinely cool in the mountains of east Tennessee,
so best bring a little jacket.   Or you could just fill your lap with fluffs!

Hello Everybody,
I have a confession to make.   I am all flushed in my cheeks just thinking about it ... but I feel I must tell you the Truth. Last year I took the CGC testing (that's Canine Good Citizen) at our Bash, and well..... I FAILED!  Yes, yes, it's true ....

When you come to my house to visit,
be prepared to be licked and love!!

It's such a SIMPLE testing procedure ... get patted ... sit .. down .. stay a few seconds .. go to Mom ... let stranger walk up to me .. have a brush rubbed over your body (oh it feels so good!) All so easy!  Anypooch could do it, right?

Well, it's true.  Me.. Bungee.. everybody's pal was rejected by that nice lady.  No congratulations, No round of applause, No brass band playing.  No sirreeee, nuthin'!  But let me tell you my side of the story, okay?

I was SO good at the first 9 components, I'm talkin' awesome.  Let those ladies run their hands all over me.  Let 'em say how cute I am.  Bring it on!  But then THEY went 'n blew it!  They brought out the  'strange dog ... a big ole hairy red, albeit utmost polite and handsome Golden.  I took one look at that big red bruiser, and told him in my ugliest voice that he was NOT a Bichon, he was RED, not white, and he best get OFF the property... PRONTO!  Some other Bichons even joined me in un-inviting him!  We were right, right!?!? It's a Bichon party, right?!?!

As you can guess, the tester was really not impressed by my elistist attitude, and told my Mom I needed socialization skills.  Hah! Me?!?

Being a resourceful fluff, I have taken this elitist problem into my own paws, and have been practicing a little desensitization in my spare time:
http://www.symphonyhill.com/pix/dogs/study.jpg

I'll be trying again this year!  Join me!!       Luv, Bungee

That's my little assistant, TiggyWiggyWoo,
a/k/a Tiger.  He works hard too.

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

The Bash Sign-ups went live last evening, just as I promised, and Ka-Bam, the program had a lil ole hissy fit.  Well ... well !!! So I did what any wise fluff does, get's Dad!  He made it all better, and by the time I crawled into bed last night, all programming was humming along well.

Did you get to see all the kewl special activities that Mom & Dad have arranged?  Auntie Anita from California is comin' back to do a Blessing of the Animals, and Auntie Barbara is coming from Arizona with her shears and clippers (eeeeuuuuuwwww - leave me alone Aunt B!) ... and then there's ... well, go check em out yourself .......

You can see the Special Events in brief on the
Homepage or click on them to see a full write-up, or go to  Schedule in top menu to see the formal schedule of events for Friday Oct 5 - Sunday Oct 7.  I get to have fluffy friends over for 3 days!!   Woofffeeeeee!!!!Kisses, Bungee

Our heartfelt thanks to Dick Meuler of Runnels, Iowa
for this wonderful sign that adorns our driveway.

8th Southeast USA BICHON BASH

Hurrah! Our 8th Bichon Bash is just six weeks away. ... and there's SO MUCH going on!  I hope you fluffs are all getting ready to do a whole lotta sniffing and blitzin'!

SPECIAL EVENTS:   I am about to OPEN the Sign-ups for the Bichon Bash's special offerings by some awesome professional dog people.  Some events have limited space so check 'em out asap, and sign up for the ones you and your fluff will enjoy.   I'll be on hand all weekend, moving through the crowd, making sure everything is going smoothly, and ensuring that everyone is having a good time.

Gorgeous autumn weather in eastern Tennessee is something to behold, and I am hoping you'll come on over to my house the first weekend in October, sit back, relax and have a wonderful time.  I can even take you on my most favorite walkie around the farm.

This is my field where the Bash is held. It looks different every single morning when I go out to go peepee.
